We are excited to exhibit once again at LogiMAT 2024, Europe's biggest intra-logistics fair. This is a great opportunity for visitors to experience our steel structures and talk to us.

MiTek's Mezzanine Solutions at LogiMAT 2024

MiTek offers a unique combination of hybrid and cold-formed steel mezzanines

MiTek will be showcasing an even wider product range at this year's LogiMAT, which takes place from 19th to 21st March in Stuttgart. "Visitors can expect a stand where they can touch and experience our solutions," says Bart Pulles, Operations and Sales Manager at MiTek and responsible for the European mezzanine business. “We will present both the hybrid construction, made of hot-rolled and cold-formed steel, as well as the purely cold-formed version of our mezzanine solutions – for visitors to experience and discuss in detail.”

Combined approach is a USP

The fact that we have both designs in its range and can therefore respond flexibly to a wide range of customer requirements proves a unique selling point. Pulles reveals that demand for this combined approach has increased significantly since it was introduced at LogiMAT last year. “For example, we are currently implementing a mezzanine project with one of the leading system integrators in Germany, where we are using the hybrid design for an AutoStore system due to its high load capacity, while the cold-formed design is used for work and service platforms.”

Ideal solution for large mezzanine projects

According to Pulles, the combination of hybrid and cold-formed floors is the perfect solution, especially for large logistics projects. “The technical requirements here are often very different. Our modules are tailor-made and economical. They are used exactly where they make sense and ensure there is neither over- nor under-engineering.” In addition, the cold-formed steel construction uses less material than its hybrid counterpart. This leads to cost savings, conserves resources and improves carbon footprint.

Agility as a strength and driver of growth

Agility is one of our key strength and a major reason for the continued expansion of the business. “Despite generally difficult market conditions and the decline in willingness to invest,” says Pulles, “we are recording an increase in orders.” Our mezzanine business grew last year, particularly in Europe. In addition to the expanded product range, another factor for success was the strengthening of the German team across sales, project management and purchasing during 2023.

Opportunity markets

We have noticed a change in the distribution of demand across different industries and countries. “Demand from e-commerce fell last year,” explains Pulles, “while demand from traditional retail, such as the fashion and food sectors, increased.” Third-party logistics providers also showed increasing interest. Regionally, in addition to the traditional central European markets, we particularly sees the Baltic states and southern Europe as promising. Bart Pulles is very confident about the future: “MiTek is a reliable partner for companies that are looking for high-quality mezzanine solutions and unique support for their projects. This is something we are aiming to prove at LogiMAT 2024.”
