The choice of decking material will be largely determined by the intended use of the floor, along with any regulatory requirements. The main considerations are load-bearing ability, moisture resistance, fire resistance, the need for a non-slip surface and durability. At MiTek, we offer a range of decking solutions in different materials including particle board, composite material, steel, aluminium and fibreglass. Our experts are here to advise you on the perfect option for the specific needs of your business.
This cost-effective decking option is widely specified due to its versatility, fast installation and capability to hold high point loads. Tongue and grooved edges are designed for strength and a smooth finish. Particle board is also available in a moisture-resistant version, ideal for humid environments.
A range of different finishes can be applied to the top and/or underside of the particle board decking material, according to your requirements. Top layers can have properties such as water resistance, anti-slip, wear resistance, anti-static and fire retardancy, as well as improved bearing capacity and light reflectiveness.
Our composite decking options have undergone rigorous testing to ensure they are as durable and resistant in a variety of environments including a robotics / AGV solutions. They have been specifically designed to be anti-slip, anti-static, abrasion resistant, vibration absorbing and, in some cases, even reversible in order to provide as much longevity as possible for your hard-working floor.
Steel provides exceptional strength and durability, ideal for floors that need to cope with high loads. Steel plates or Durbar chequer plates are favoured in many industries because of their fire-resistant, anti-slip and corrosion-resistant capabilities. This decking choice is highly versatile and has a range of finishes.
When enabling a flow of light, heat, air, sound or water is an important factor, mesh grating is an ideal choice and one that is often used with sprinklers. This type of mezzanine decking is strong and durable, as well as low maintenance. With its anti-slip properties, it is also a popular option for staircase treads.
Bdeck40® is not, strictly speaking, a decking option but rather the decking support system that underpins our Mezzanine7® floor. The solution has been developed in-house to facilitate future changes in mezzanine usage by making the floor 7 times stronger than a standard mezzanine. Bdeck40® comprises a corrugated profile base using UltraSTEEL® (a dimpled metal plate) for maximum strength and can be used in conjunction with any decking option.
